What We Do

Personalized Life-Style Medicine – everyone receives personalized care for their specific conditions. Acupuncture treatments are created-designed according to the diagnosis. For example: two patients with migraines may receive different treatments and herbs because the root cause may be different.

Whole Body Holistic Care – Natural restoration of the whole person and their maladies.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) includes – Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Nutritional Guidance/Therapy, Lifestyle Coaching, Meditation, and Qi Gung. All these therapies bring the body into balance to restore itself.

Acupuncture awakens your immune system to optimize your body, mind, and spirit. When using the herbs in conjunction with Acupuncture, the effectiveness of both increases.

In Juan’s Own Words…

Why I became an Acupuncturist

One day while I was teaching a course that I had developed at IBM in Atlanta, my 14-year-old daughter, Sara, called and asked me to come and “signed her into a psych clinic”. When I asked why, she replied, “I’m depressed”. This was a shock to me! After hanging up the phone, I thought about all the people that I had known with depression and none had ever overcome/healed their depression. I explained this to Sara and gave her the choice of trying Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) or going to the clinic. Sara understood and chose TCM; from the first Acupuncture treatment Sara seemed different. On the way to the treatment she was quiet and withdrawn but, on the way, back she was talking, laughing, asking “Why was I so angry? Why was I depressed?” Three months later after receiving Acupuncture treatments and taking/drinking Chinese Herbal teas, Sara was a normal teenager again. This episode changed both our lives. I witnessed how TCM restores people, helping them live happier and in harmony with their environment in a natural way. From that time on I began to prepare to attend TCM school. In 1994, I quit my job with IBM and headed to Santa Fe, NM where I attended the Southwest Acupuncture College. I graduated a year early in 1997 with a 4-year master’s Degree of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM).
