What is Direct Pay?

American Health Acupuncture is a direct pay practice. What does that mean for you and your health care costs? Direct pay means that full payment for your visit is due at the time of your appointment. You pay for the quality of care you receive. We provide the highest level of care while making it affordable for the average household, not just the elite. We understand that many of our patients simply cannot afford those types of financial demands and that is why we keep our fees affordable and have 2 different types of Acupuncture treatments available (which may include additional services that are not added on to the treatment charge). Our treatments and initial assessment exam (which includes an Iridology Exam) are below what Acupuncturist's with our level of expertise are charging. We accept cash, checks, VISA, MasterCard, and Discover credit/debit cards & HSA Debit Cards.

If You Have Insurance Coverage

Juan R Tejada, MSOM, L.Ac. is not "in network" with any health insurance plans. However, at the end of your visit, upon request, we can print you a receipt with the insurance coding so you may submit the invoice to your insurance company for direct reimbursement.    Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine is becoming more requested as an effective healing treatment so more insurance companies are covering Acupuncture. Confirming acupuncture coverage with the insurance provider and obtaining reimbursement would be the patient's responsibility.

Choosing Health as Your First Priority

Direct pay is the best option for those who choose to make their health a priority, regardless of coverage. We offer fair pricing for all of our comprehensive services, allowing your continued health and prevention to be affordable. We also understand the expense of regaining health and the healing process, so we offer our patients a financial incentive with our Package Rates.

The first visit with a consultation/assessment/exam and treatment can take as long as 1 1/2 hrs - 2 hrs. as our Acupuncturist Juan Tejada takes the necessary time to truly understand each patient's current health concerns or issues and determine the frequency of treatments to meet their current & ultimate health goals. That cannot be accomplished in the 7 minute average appointments most patients are accustomed to in today's health care system.

After that initial diagnostic exam and treatment, the next visit is 30-60 minutes in length (depending on which of the 3 available acupuncture treatments are chosen). Each treatment will first begin with a Complimentary re-evaluation and reassessment and a short update from the patient on their current state of health noting the changes that have occurred to allow our Acupuncturist to adjust the treatment if needed.

No Wait Policy

Can you imagine not having to wait at a doctor’s office? Well, your time is as valuable as ours. We have a no-wait policy. You will be seen within minutes of your arrival.
